Here are some columns of ancient Rome, which are still very stable. We would wish to have this kind of lifetime for our columns in modern HPLC today.

Scope of the Symposium
The 16th ISSS is aimed at providing a meeting point and discussion forum for scientists and users of chromatography, electrophoresis and related or hyphenated techniques from academia and industry. The scientific program will cover practical and fundamental aspects of these techniques and it will be focused on the following main topics:
A) advances in instrumentation, column technology, and detection methods;
B) multidimensional and hyphenated techniques;
C) theoretical aspects of separation and detection methods;
D) industrial applications; sample preparation; data analysis;
E) life sciences, with particular accent on proteomics, metabolomics and biomarker discovery;
F) clinical, pharmaceutical, environmental and food analysis.
The scientific program will comprise invited lectures by distinguished scientists from Europe and USA, oral communications as parallel sessions, and poster presentations. Rapid podium presentation of posters communications by young scientists and an instrument exhibition displaying the latest instrumental innovations will be included too.

Organizing Institutions
The 16th ISSS is organized by the Interdivisional Group of Separation Sciences of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI), under the auspicious of the Central European Group for Separation Science (CEGSS), the European Society for Separation Science (EuSSS), the Division of Analytical Chemistry and the Division of Chemistry for Environment and Cultural Heritage of SCI, and the Italian National Research Council (CNR). The 16th ISSS has already received the patronage of the University of Turin, the Governor of Region Lazio and of the President of the Province of Rome.

Chairpersons
Dr. Danilo Corradini, Italian National Research Council, Montelibretti (Rome), Italy (Chairman)
Prof. Corrado Sarzanini, University of Turin, Italy (Co-chairman)

Drug Analysis 2010 will be held in the University Campus of Antwerp.

This international symposium will be a joint meeting of two distinguished series: the 9th International Symposium on Drug Analysis and the 22nd International Symposium on Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis. It follows a series of successful symposia on Drug Analysis organized by the Belgian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) since 1983.

This symposium will cover all aspects of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, including emerging domains, such as ‘omics’, process analytical technology and green analysis.
